I am a self-taught artist.
I began painting at age 23 and it started when my friends and me
would be out all night and we would get a whole car full of friends
to come back to our place. My best friend Mel would nag me
until I started painting on the walls for the crowd. So in
that aspect I would be the closing ceremonies entertainment for the
group. I would paint anything they wanted and they would all just
talk and watch me paint. I found a true love for it and was
really upset that my wall paintings would have to stay at that
apartment when we moved out. So I started collecting pieces
of wall to paint on so I wouldn’t have to leave any
behind.
Over the years I have had offers
to buy my work. I could of made a lot of money from one
collection I had a couple of years ago, only the people purchasing
wanted to frame and clean up the paintings. I don't want my
pieces to be perfected by anyone else. I love every one of
them and hold their completion dear to my heart. I want the
illusion of a torn piece of billboard when they hang. I have
several customers who have pieces hanging and they look wonderful
against the wall.
My pieces are made in a fashion
where you use dry wall screws to mount them directly to the
wall. You may choose the correct placement of the
screws. The screws give the pieces an industrial look and
give the illusion that this is just an extension of the wall they
are hung on. I have done some works for children’s rooms and
painted several furniture pieces through out the years. I
enjoy all of it.
